Self-Care is Critical
If you’re going through a family court case, you are in one of the most stressful and traumatic periods of your life. To survive it, you’re going to have to take care of yourself.
The simplest of healthy habits can give you amazing results:
SLEEP. Prioritize sleep. It has a multitude of benefits.
HYDRATE. Drinking water does great things for you!
EXERCISE. Exercise is a wonder drug! You don’t have to train for a marathon or go to OrangeTheory four times a week. Walking is wonderful exercise. If you’re not a regular exerciser, experiment with 15-20 minutes a few times a week and see how you feel. There are tons of free workout videos on YouTube!
MEDITATE: Studies tell us that meditation has unbelievable benefits on mood and health. There are numerous apps that guide you through a session as short as 5 minutes.
TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF: If you have kids, take advantage of any opportunity to take some Me Time and just relax, do something you enjoy, rest, or exercise.
EAT YOUR VEGGIES: Junk food is only going to exacerbate your bad mood. Get some fruits and veggies in you for better physical and mental health!
MINIMIZE ALCOHOL: alcohol is a depressant and isn’t going to have a good effect on your mood or mental health.
COUNSELING: If you’re really struggling, try counseling and incorporate the recommendations.
